Gender Reveal Party

On Sunday, we had a party with our family and church life group to share the gender of our baby!  It was a blast!!  The majority of the guests had never been to a party like this before so we tried to make it a memorable one!  On the invite, we asked people to wear pink or blue according to what they thought the gender of our baby was.  We also had them make a tally on a chalkboard when they arrived.  On the tables , I printed up a list of different wives tales to see how true they really are.  We served blue filled cake pops announcing the gender and brownie ice cream sundaes.  After announcing the gender, we also had everyone write on a scrapbook paper name ideas and any advice or blessings they had for us or the baby!

  We had fun planning and using as many different pink and blue things as we could!  A special thanks to my sister Britney for doing all of the baking!  It was amazing!!!

Thanks to my mom, Denise, and Lindsey for the pictures...here are some:

it's a BOY :)

As people came in, we asked them mark if they thought it was going to be a boy or a girl!   Boy won the vote  26-20

We already knew it was a boy, but thought we needed a picture :)

We want to thank everyone again for coming to our party!  You all made it extra special!  Also, huge thanks to the family and friends who helped set and clean up...we couldn't of done without you!  We can not wait for our little boy to meet all of you!!

 Let the planning and shopping begin! :)

It's A......

BOY :)

Last week at our ultrasound, we found out we are having a boy!!  It was a surprise to both of us!!  I was saying girl all along, and Kory was saying boy.  But, the morning of our ultrasound, Kory changed his mind and felt sure it was a girl!  {Neither way, we were going to be thrilled!}
When our doctor came in, the first thing she asked was if we wanted to know the gender.  Of course, we both said yes.  It didn't take her 10 more seconds, and she said well there it is!  Neither of us said anything because we weren't so sure of what were were looking at exactly on the screen.  Then...she said...it's a BOY!!!  I wish there would of been a video camera in there to catch both of our reactions because I'm sure they were memorable ones!  We were both surprised and excited!!!!  But now the hard part was keeping this  a secret until our party with our family and life group on Sunday!!

We feel very blessed to bring the 6th generation of the Ostrand family into this world! We knew it would be up to us or Kory's brother to have a boy and carry on the Ostrand name, but we never dreamed it would be us, especially with our first child and both of our families being girl dominant; But as Granny told me yesterday, God knows the perfect time to bring a little boy into our family.  We are beyond blessed that he chose and entrusted us to be the earthly parents to this little cowboy!!

Last Monday, we had our mid-pregnancy ultrasound!  Kory came with so that was nice!  The baby is definitely growing; it's two days ahead!  The doctor said it weighs 10 oz.  We didn't get very good 3-D pictures, because she said the baby was too far back or something! It was very exciting to see our baby again!! :)  And....YES....we did find out the gender!  Stay tuned for the reveal! :)

A beautiful morning

A couple Sundays ago, Kory and I purchased a real Christmas tree!  My family and I always cut one down together, but this was Kory's first experience!  It was a fun experience to do together!  We learned a few things for next year, but over all it looks pretty good!  (And smells good too! :)
