my first calf

1/22/13

My {Brexton} first calf was born today!  Papa put her in the barn during the night check so she was nice and warm when I got to meet her this morning! Mommy won the bet with daddy that my heifer would have another heifer!  I think that's okay because that means my herd is growing!!  :)  Here are some pictures of me meeting my baby calf...any votes on what I should name her!?  :)

visit to the barn...

Brexton and I had been in the house all day so we decided to do the evening calving check with daddy even though it was Brexton's bedtime.  There just happened to a new baby calf in the barn too!  It was misting and pretty chilly so Brexton and I stayed in the barn while Kory went out to check, and boy did we have one sad little boy!!  :(  After daddy got out of sight he was okay; he just took everything around him all in!  Daddy's says hopefully Brexton likes cows because he can't wait for him to help! :)

The cows are three miles from our house and that's all it took to put Brexton to sleep on the way home! :)

mommy's taste tester...

Brexton's new thing is the dishwasher!!  However, it is a problem when I am trying to load the dirty dishes!  Today, I made some homemade frosting with the hand mixer.  Two minutes prior to loading the dishwasher, Brexton was playing with his toys.  Next thing I know, he was reaching into the dishwasher for the beaters from the frosting I had just put in there!  Good thing was the beaters occupied him while I was able to load the rest!  :)  It was to cute to not take some pictures!  And I guess I can't really blame him for wanting to lick the beaters...he knows what tastes good!  :)

Checking cows with daddy

1/5/13
We took advantage of the warmer weather today to help daddy check cows for the first time!  We got to see one baby that had been born earlier in the day, but other than that it was pretty quiet.  Brexton enjoyed his four wheeler ride through the cows and didn't mind having to be bundled up!  I'm sure this is the first of many times we will be out with daddy!

love these two boys!

Christmas @ Nana & Papas

12/29/12

This year we did our Christmas with Kory's family after Christmas!  It was kind of nice to spread it out!  Kory's brother, Kyle, and his wife, Marquette, were able to be back from North Dakota for some extra days too so it was fun time to all be together!  We had a great dinner...prime rib & pork loin!  Kyle had a bad headache so he napped while we ate, but then was able to enjoy the rest of the evening with us!  We had fun opening presents.  Brexton got a new wagon from Nana and Papa and an extra special chair from Uncle Kyle and Aunt Marquette that was actually made by Brexton's Great Great Uncle John who lives in California!  Here are a few pictures from our evening!

Baby Shower {Little Miss}

12/29/12

We had the privilege of hosting a baby shower for Marquette and Little Miss when they were back for Christmas!  I had a lot of fun planning and preparing for this special event!  I was so thankful for Kara and Julie's, even Marquette's, extra hands because Brexton wasn't feeling good the day before when we were trying to get ready!  We managed to get lots of snuggles in as well have everything perfect for the shower!

  Here are some pictures to share!!  Thanks Nana Julie and Lindsey from Oh So Edgy Photography for all for all of the pictures since I didn't take a single one on my camera!!
