I love going to the Cattlemen's Classic in Kearney every year, and was pretty bummed when the forecast was calling for major snow this year! I enjoy spending time with aunt and uncle and girls who come up to show every year, and it was because of them I met Kory!! We met 9 years ago already at the Classic! So it always brings back fun memories for us!!
We consigned a pen of 5 heifers so I was pretty sure even the weather was going to stop us!! We headed down a day early (the night the snow started) to get the cattle settled in! We were packed for a couple days assuming we would be snowed in! Thankfully we had a wonderful host/hostess with the Slingsby! Kory kept commented how weird it felt to actually have a snow day! If he was at home he would of been scooping bunks, moving snow, and taking care of the calving cows! Brexton enjoyed all of the extra time with him though!! :)
The Classic continued with the cattle shows on Thursday but the sales were moved to Friday! We were out at the grounds just a few hours Thursday...there wasn't a lot of action! We headed back out Friday morning and spent all day there...Brexton did great! There was enough cows to look at; green farm equipment to sit in and four wheelers to sit on to keep him entertained!! We ended the day by selling our pen of heifers to a great family!! The classic was a fun mini vacation for our family! Here are a few pictures from Friday!!
