Family Vacation to

...NORTH DAKOTA...

We got our bull sale under our belt so it's time to get away for a few days!  We decided back at Christmas time that we were going to head north to see Kory's brother Kyle and his wife Marquette...and our new niece!!  It was going to be a long 12 hour drive up to Williston, but knew it would be worth it....and we were right!!

We decided that with it being such a long trip, it would be best to break it up for Brexton...and mom and dad too!  :)  We traveled around Brexton's nap times and made it the six hours to Rapid City on Monday late afternoon!!  We got our hotel room and headed out to eat at Texas Roadhouse!  And of course...we can't go by a Cabela's and not stop!  ;)  When we got back to the hotel, we decided to do some swimming...hoping to wear Brexton out to sleep good and be ready to travel the next day!  Brexton had a blast!!  He kept wanting to put his head in the water!  They had a slide that daddy did a few times and made Brexton mad...but it was a little too fast to him with!  Here are a few pictures from our swimming!

Next stop....Kyle & Marquette's, Williston, ND

We got up the next morning with hopes of taking off at a decent time.  We thought we were doing good then realized we were in mountain time so we were an hour behind what we thought!  We ate breakfast and loaded back up.  We had to plan our stops because there aren't a lot of options to stop between here and there!  We found a Subway along the way for lunch and a Dairy Queen later down the road.  Then finally, mid afternoon, we made it to Williston!!  We actually meet Kyle heading out to meet a customer so we knew we were in the right place!!  We were never so excited to arrive...see Kyle and Marquette....AND meet our 18 day new NIECE....

Miss Breckette is the sweetest little girl ever!  She has a head full of beautiful dark hair and blue eyes!  She is so easy going!  Brexton loved her as long as his momma wasn't holding her!  They are going to be best cousins I'm sure!

We had a great time with K, M, & B!  We got lots of snuggle time in with Miss Breckette...lots of visiting with the new mommy and daddy...watched movies...tried out their favorite Mexican restaurant and frozen yogurt place...went for a walk...toured the town....Kory got to go on a delivery run with one of Kyle's drivers....overall we had a great time just being with them!  It was nice to not have anything to do, but enjoy each others company!

We headed out on Friday morning with the hopes of making it all the way home, but was just going to see what happened!  We made it back to Rapid City easily and thought it would be a good place to get out for a couple hours and make a plan from there.  We did a little shopping and grabbed a bite to eat.  We decided to head down the road with a goal of making it to Valentine!  By the time we got to Valentine, Brexton was down for the night so we kept on down the road.  We pulled in just before midnight!  And we only ran out of gas once!  Yes..you read that right....Kory ran us out of gas...thankfully we were within 100 yards from the gas station so all worked out fine!  :)

Thank you Kyle and Marquette for allowing us to come stay with you!  We had a great time and can't wait to see you again!  Miss Breckette is so beautiful!  She blessed with amazing parents!  We can't wait to watch her grow into a beautiful woman of God!  We love you guys!!!!  Can't wait to love on our niece again!!
