Thanksgiving Day

For Thanksgiving this year, we spent the day at grandpa and grandmas house!  Dad cooked a turkey on the traegger grill!  It was delicious!  We all had a hand in the rest of the cooking!!  I think we did a great job if I must say!!  :)  We had a day full of eating and hanging out!  The boys and mom all went over to the new shed to play basketball and Brexton got to ride on grandpa's toys and help him feed calves!  Britney and I stayed back at the house and got crafty with her Cricut!  It was a fun day!   Here are just a few pictures..

so many reasons to be THANKFUL

our little {turkey}

{growing boy}

So I realized this last couple weeks, I haven't taken very many pictures of Brexton...yes I know that's surprising   :)  I guess we are just been busy watching him grow before our eyes...literally!  Brexton just hasn't shown any interest in rolling or crawling at all!  However he has started pulling himself up on his toys!  Some people have expressed their concern the he needs to crawl first!  Whether they are right or not, we decided to work hard on it!  I took these pictures last week as we began our crawling 'practice sessions'!  :)

Well I guess in this last week, Brexton decided he wanted to be a BIG boy on his own!  First, he has started taking baths in the big tub and just loves it.  He has mastered not only just splashing while sitting up, but sliding to his tummy then rolling over and splashing or should I say causing a hurricane with his legs!!  He just loves it!
Brexton has also remastered rolling from his tummy to his back once again.  (still hasn't gone from back to tummy)  He likes to lunge foward while sitting up to get to his tummy then rolls right to his back, then kicks like he is in the bath!
It's official...Brexton's first word is DADA!  It made mommy sad at first, but I seen how excited Kory was and think its sweet!!  :)  Daddy heard it for the first time at his last fairboard meeting on Saturday!  Brexton and I were walking around towards the back of the room.  While there was a break in conversation, Brexton says DADA...I look up at Kory in hopes he heard it.  HE DID!!  Kory was smiling from ear to ear and obviously the rest of them heard it because everyone looked back at us!  Oh well....it was worth it!  :)
Each day Brexton shows more interest in wanting to crawl.  He has started  leaning forward while sitting and proping himself up on his right shin and left foot!  He will lean on both hands and rocks then sits  back down!  I know it won't be much longer before he is mobile!

first meeting with Santa

11/10/12

Today was opening day of my very first deer season.  We went with daddy to the early morning pre-hunt breakfast at Saathoffs with the rest of the Ostrand cousins!  (well i slept while mommy & daddy ate)  When the crew headed out to hunt, mommy and I went to Kearney to meet Aunty Britty & and Grandma Neise.  We did lots of shopping and I was a good boy!  :)  While shopping at Herbergers, I ran into this funny looking guy that had a long white beard and a red hat & suit.  They tell me his name is Santa.  I liked to look at him, but when he got close he kind of scared me!  Of course mom thought she needed a picture..so here it is!!

After shopping, we headed back to Saatoffs to hear all about the hunting, watch the Huskers play, and play with all of my cousins!  It was a busy, yet FUN day!  Daddy said maybe he would take me hunting later in the week!  :)

Quarter Final Football Game

11/6/12

The football season came to an end tonight for the Red Raiders!  :(  We traveled to Elgin to take on another undefeated team!  Unfortunately, this team was really tough and was more than Loup City could handle!  It was sad to see the boys' season over, but they had a great year!  Their team finished in the top 8 in class D-1...way to go boys!!!

Next stop for State Football Playoffs...

10/31/12

Hemingford

On Halloween we roadtripped out to the western part of the state (4 1/2 hours from home) for Uncle Austin's next playoff game!  We knew this could be a tough game as Hemingford was undefeated, and didn't want to miss out on what could of been his last game!  And we were glad we went...the boys came home with a VICTORY!!  Loup City took a huge quick lead in the first quarter and never slowed down!  Congrats on another victory!
  Brexton did great traveling!  I was thankful for the dvd player and movies we had!  :)
